Treatment

Medicines

Long-term healing of most peptic ulcers can be achieved rapidly by eradicating H. pylori . It is recommended that the presence of H. pylori is confirmed before starting eradication treatment. Peptic ulcers that are not caused by H. pylori (but by NSAIDs, for example) can be healed using acid-suppressing drugs or prostaglandin analogues.
