Symptoms

Heartburn is a burning feeling rising from the stomach or lower chest up towards the neck. It may feel like food is coming back into the mouth (regurgitation) and have an acid or bitter taste. It can last as long as two hours and is worse after eating. It is important that you speak to your doctor if you suffer from heartburn for more than two days a week, because, although the effects of the heartburn may seem mild to you, it may be having a damaging effect on your health.
