Over and over, AstraZeneca is being lauded as a great company to work for. Here are a selection of some of our recent awards:
Universum's Företagsbarometern 2008 - Sweden
This year AZ is number 8 (last year 6) on the list of most popular employers among graduate students studying to become engineers. In total 15,128 graduate students in economy, civil engineering, IT or law participated in the Swedish based survey.
Opportunity Now Winner
AstraZeneca scooped the joint top prize in an Opportunity Now award, which celebrates best practice in gender diversity in the workplace. The award follows the publication of the 2006 Female FTSE Report. The report, published by the International Centre for Women Business Leaders at Cranfield School of Management, looked at the number of women on UK boards. It shows that AstraZeneca is ahead of other leading companies when it comes to the number of women we have in senior positions.
Science Journal Top Employers Awards
For the fifth consecutive year, AstraZeneca was named a “top employer” in Science magazine’s ranking of the world’s most respected biopharmaceutical employers.
The ranking, determined from a survey conducted by an independent research firm commissioned by the business office of the global journal, Science, appears in a special supplement. This year, AstraZeneca ranked #5.
The UK Graduate Survey 2006
AstraZeneca was ranked ‘36’ in the Top 50 'Best opportunities for UK Graduates' in The Times/High Fliers research annual study of university finalists.
The survey polled nearly 16,000 students at 30 leading UK universities. The annual study produced by High Fliers Research Ltd, an independent market research organisation, seeks to measure finalists' perceptions, aspirations and expectations of graduate employers.
'Big Tick' in Business in The Community UK
AstraZeneca has been awarded an Awards (BitC) for Excellence 2005-6, for its approach to the health and well-being of employees in the UK. The award is supported by the Department of Health, in association with the Health and Safety Executive. The Big Tick is awarded to companies that demonstrate excellence in the way they organise and integrate responsible business practices, and show positive impact on business and society.
Universum Communication 'Företagsbaromentern 2006' Sweden
AstraZeneca was ranked ‘6’ among Science and Engineering students in the annual study of favourite employers run by Universum Communication.
The survey polled more than 11,000 students in Economics, Computer Science, Science and Engineering. For the fourth consecutive year, AstraZeneca was the most popular pharmaceutical company.
25 Noteworthy Companies List - DiversityInc Magazine (U.S)
This list recognizes companies who have made significant strides in several important areas, including human capital, CEO commitment, corporate communications and supplier diversity. AstraZeneca’s main diversity focus has been on recruitment, including recruiting people with disabilities and retention. Company-funded and company-sponsored networking groups and work/life-balance initiatives are accredited to AstraZeneca’s ongoing progress.

AstraZeneca is one of three-dozen U.S. employers recognised for their innovative efforts to battle obesity and promote a healthy work environment for their employees by providing meaningful fitness and lifestyle improvement programs.

AstraZeneca has been recognized for the sixth year in a row from among hundreds of companies for excellence in the areas of work/life culture, flexibility, family friendly programs, childcare, women’s advancement and total compensation.
